School meals will continue amidst Government shutdown
Dear Ellensburg School District Families,
We understand that the government shutdown may cause concern for households that receive SNAP benefits or other federal assistance. We want to reassure you that your child's free or reduced-price meal status at school will not be affected by the shutdown. Our school meal program will continue to operate without disruption and we will continue to provide meals to all students.
Additionally, if your household has been affected by the federal government shutdown, you may be eligible for temporary free or reduced-price meal benefits, which may qualify you for other waived fees or support. Families experiencing a loss of income due to a furlough or other hardship are encouraged to reapply for benefits under the current circumstances. You may submit a new Child Nutrition Eligibility and Education Benefits Form (CNEEB) HERE or by completing the attached form and turning it into your child's school.
In addition to the CNEEB Application, the following are some resources available throughout the community:
- Food banks and pantries across Washington
- Food banks and meal programs across Washington
- 211 resource page
- Washington State Department of Social & Health Services FAQ about SNAP benefits
Thank you for your continued support of Ellensburg School District.
